Bio

Melisa is a first-year M.A. psychology student at SDSU. After having spent half of her life in Mexico, she moved to Los Angeles in pursuit of better educational opportunities during late middle school. She earned a B.A. in Psychology from SDSU, with an emphasis in neuroscience and a double minor in Sociology and Counseling and Social Change. As an undergraduate,

Melisa served as a research assistant in the Infant and Child Development Lab doing research on language acquisition in children. She drafted a senior project with a main focus on English-Spanish bilingual children that led her to present at both national and international conferences, including WPA in San Francisco and ICIS in Scotland.
