Student researchers are essential to the CORE Lab. Students are routinely involved in all stages of research, from question formation to primary data collection, analysis, and results communication.

SDSU-UCSD Clinical Psychology Joint Doctoral Program

Dr. Leer will not be accepting students for the Fall 2025 application cycle.

SDSU M.A. in Psychology

Dr. Leer will be recruiting students Master’s students for the Fall 2025 application cycle (to start in Fall 2026). The SDSU M.A. program in Psychology, a funded program that is ideal for those interesting in seeking a PhD in psychology and/or a career in research inside or outside of academia. Ideal candidates for the CORE Lab will have a B.A. in psychology, sociology, economics, public health, policy, or interdisciplinary studies.

Research experience—especially quantitative analytic skills using R or Stata—and/or qualitative data collection and analysis is highly valued.

Undergraduate Students

The CORE Lab offers opportunities for current SDSU undergraduate students. The lab is currently full but new opportunities may be posted in Spring 2026.
